Mid-20th century modern ceramic tile artist Jean Nison (1922- )
A discussion of the ceramic tile murals of Jean Nison (b. 1922), who is an almost-forgotten mid-20th century modern ceramic artist. Nison was active from the early 1950s through the mid-1960s. Some of her commissions included the Tichenor residence in Long Beach, CA; the Lippincott residence in Scarsdale, NY; the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Berkeley, CA; the "Arts of Daily Living" exhibit in Pomona, CA; and Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. She exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Ctafts and the Dallas Museum of Art.

Isaac Broome was a sculptor, artist and designer during the last half of the 19th century and the first two decades of the 20th century. He was influential in the successful beginnings of three industrial tile companies in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
